In many parts, Raees is like a bad photocopy of Angry Young Man Amitabh Bachchan’s anti-hero films. Shahrukh neither sticks to anger and action nor does romancing. Nawazuddin Siddiqui turned cop dominates him throughout the film. Had Nawaz not handled the film, it would have collapsed. Mahira Khan is beautiful but her role is very weak. The music is average.

The background music definitely brings back memories of the 1980s. At the juncture of Sunny Leone’s item dance Laila, Raees’ circumstances are so tense that it does not leave an impact.
