The
story begins with Rome. Milkha Singh (Farhan Akhtar), running towards
his objective at lightning speed in the 1960 Olympics, briefly thinks
and sees luck flying with him. It is from here that Milkha’s journey of
bitter-sweet memories begins, where he has experienced the loss of his

Rakesh Mehra has done their full share in the content. Mehra has been
absolutely effective in depicting the atmosphere of the Indo-Pak
division in the 50-60s. The period after, the pace of the story dials
back a piece when Milkha travels to another country. Mehra is to be
commended for working effectively with the cameraman. Also, considering
the need for Mehra, the film could easily be shortened to 15 to 20
minutes in the hour of change.
