Prime Minister Narendra Modi discussed the condition of all states by video conferencing with the Chief Ministers of all the states on April 11, in which there was talk about lock-down. Chief Ministers of 10 states, including Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Punjab, Rajasthan and Odisha, suggested increasing the lock-down. However, the Center has not yet made any announcement regarding this, but the process of increasing the lock-down has started in the states.

Odisha has announced to extend the lockdown by 30 April. After this, the government of Punjab, Maharashtra and West Bengal have also announced to increase the lock-down. The government of West Bengal has ordered the closure of all educational institutions till June 10, furthering the lockdown. Uttarakhand, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party-ruled state at the center, has also extended the lock-down.

At the same time, after video conferencing with PM Modi, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has also announced to increase the lockdown with some relief while addressing the people of the state. However, Khattar has asked to start industrial and commercial activities by dividing them into three zones namely, Red, Orange and Yellow. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has given his suggestion to the Prime Minister to increase the lockdown across the country.

PM Modi implemented a lockdown in the country on 24 March. But even before the PM announced the lockdown on March 24, the government of Rajasthan had announced the lockdown in its place. That the number of patients infected with the corona virus in the country has reached above 7500. More than 240 people have lost their lives due to this disease.
